Toroslar EDAŞ invests in 1.37 billion TL in Gaziantep in 8 years

Toroslar Elektrik Dağıtım A.Ş. (Toroslar EDAŞ) invested in 1.37 billion TL to its distribution grid to provide uninterrupted energy in Gaziantep, where the Company began serving as of October 1, 2013. In 8 years, 198,710 breakdowns were intervened, and energy supply and continuity were ensured.

Toroslar EDAŞ, the leader of investment in electricity distribution, facilitates the lives of its customers and meets the energy requirement of the city thanks to its investments to provide sustainable and uninterrupted energy in Gaziantep. Beginning to provide service on October 1, 2013 following privatisation, Toroslar EDAŞ achieved a grid investment of 1.37 billion TL during its 8-year of operation in order to provide the highest quality service to its customers in Gaziantep.

While power cuts disrupt the pace of life, Toroslar EDAŞ sustains its efforts meticulously in order to avoid these setbacks. Carrying out the maintenance works for the existing grid and equipment together with new investments, Toroslar EDAŞ invested in approximately 50 million TL for the maintenance works in the period of 2017-2021. Along with the maintenance works, 29,126 km of overhead/underground grid lines were maintained, while 13,175 equipment and grid components were rehabilitated.

As part of the investments, 781 transformers with an installed capacity of 738 megawatts, 1,316 kilometres of underground low voltage lines, 747 kilometres of underground medium voltage lines, 837 kilometres of overhead low voltage lines and 374 kilometres of medium voltage lines were included to the electricity distribution grid. A wide-ranging responsibility is also fulfilled , such as the operation, maintenance and repair of the grid and carrying out new investments to meet the demand.

Nearly 200,000 breakdowns intervened

Carrying out the grid maintenance and breakdown processes with the same quality and devotion for 8 years, Toroslar EDAŞ swiftly responded to 198,710 breakdowns in Gaziantep to ensure energy supply and continuity.

The electricity consumption demand increased 31 percent in Gaziantep, which is higher than the average energy increase in Turkey, is met. In order to meet the increase in demand through an uninterrupted increase in energy, Toroslar EDAŞ offered a solution to meet the requirement by increasing the underground grid length and the transformer installed capacity by 300 percent and 70 percent, respectively.

Toroslar EDAŞ not only attaches significance to keep the number and duration of scheduled outages to a minimum, but also announces these scheduled outages to its customers on its website at least 48 hours in advance. The Company keeps the contact and address information up to date in our system and transmits the data to the requesting customers. In order to meet customer demands faster and with higher quality, the Company serves Gaziantep with 375 Call Centre employees.

Since 2016, a total of 8,774,536 applications received via 186 Call Centre, Toroslar 186 Mobile Application, toroslaredas.com.tr website, WhatsApp Hotline 0 (322) 186 00 00 and social media channels have been evaluated and the demands of the customers have been met.
